Punk’s Not Dead
Punk’s Not Dead
By: Nick Ulanowski
The riot and the mosh are the soul of punk rock
And it forever lives on among the socially discarded
These motherfuckers think it’s over when we’re just getting started
Punk’s not dead because punk was never just music
It was the sound of the underground rising to the surface
It was the skateboard on the curb, grinding at the structure
It was our dream of a better tomorrow that they told us to forget
It was the look in your eyes when they tried to stop this shit
I have to admit that there are very few new, punk bands
But the message and its feeling have moved on to other mediums
Instead of turning on a punk tune, you might turn on a snarky podcast
Making fun of cops and capitalists and all of their apologists
Punk rock isn’t processed or plastic — it’s blood, sweat and tears
Punk isn’t blind rage — it’s a rat breaking out the cage
Punk’s not a “cheap product for the consumer’s head”
It seems you may have missed it but punk’s not dead
No, punk’s not dead, punk’s not dead
Sorry to disappoint but punk’s not dead
